The Chaos Aesthetic

West coast artist Jessica Hess has used architectural scenes abstracted through “decay, demolition and neglect” to create art in a “state of visual confusion”. The way beauty and death, natural and manmade and light and dark contrast in her pieces stand out to me. Some scenes are filled with graffiti and destruction, yet interplay with naturalness in a peaceful and fulfilling way.
