“Stealing” paintings from museums and putting them anywhere else

Julio Anaya Cabanding has been taking public art to a new level by painting his own versions of iconic museum pieces and placing them in completely different environments –such as a deteriorating wall of a rundown building– to provide viewers with a new, refreshing perspective. This reminds me of Maia Chao’s purpose in her project, Look at Art. Get Paid., but instead of bringing people to the museums, he is bringing the paintings to the people.
