Art is inextricably connected to the power of human creativity. Or is it?
When we look at a piece of artwork one of the thing we look for is the emotions, feelings, meanings, and even social commentaries that the artist has tried to imbue the piece with. So, how do we deal with artwork that is created, not by humans, but by AI? This question must now be grappled with, as an AI generated piece from the Paris-based art collective, Obvious. Can art still have meaning and purpose if it did not have a human maker? These questions will only get more complex as art is created by AIs developed by neural networks and the distance from any human interaction growth even further.
