Oscar Short: Late Afternoon

Late Afternoon was one of the nominations for Oscar best animated shorts. The drawing style was minimal, oftentimes not drawing the entire environment of a scene. Rarely were the images drawn to fill the frame to the border, which was fitting to put the viewer in the same mindset as the main character: grasping to recall the memories from the past that brought her to where she is in the present. As the short moves between scenes of her memories, physical objects and any rendering thereof are traded for flashes of light and sound.
