Wynwood Walls: A Miami Street Art Success

On a trip to Florida over winter break, my family and I saw an incredible set of murals in Miami called Wynwood Walls. This street art exhibit was originally started in 2009 by Tony Goldman, a real estate agent and art appreciator who wanted to bring more attention to the glory of street art and graffiti. Many American and international artists were included in this project over the years and it has now become a popular tourist attraction. It was a really interesting experience to see an exhibit about graffiti, something that we see all the time but never really take a good look at or appreciate fully. I particularly enjoyed seeing all of the bright colors that many of the artists used on these walls. The quality of their work felt very fluid and freeing and was really captivating to view as we were there. Check out the exhibit’s website below for more information:
