Visuals and Lebanese Cinema

I watched my first Arabic movie, Where Do We Go Now?, this weekend courtesy of my Jordanian-American friend and I’m happy to report that it lived up to my expectations and then some. Beyond the compelling plot (a group of women in a small mountainous Lebanese town conspire to keep religious tensions from breaking out among the men), the visuals were so lovely. The yellow, red, and orange color palette aptly suited the dry desert climate of the film. Ultimately, the high production value nicely supported the plot and made for a very enjoyable viewing experience.
